How it started

XENA Security began in the early 1990s when a group of UK engineers and motorcycle enthusiasts set out to design a better motorcycle lock.

Motorbike locks: afterthought or overkill?
At the time, motorcycle locks fell into two camps: a poor excuse for a lock, or heavy steel hardware that withstood brute force, but that ignored the need for an effective, portable solution.

A premium disc-lock for motorcycles
XENA engineers set out to design a very strong disc-lock, one that would withstand serious attempts to remove it from a motorbike. Starting with a high-grade stainless steel body, double-locking mechanism, high-security key and barrel, XENA created something brand new: a premium disc-lock for motorcycles.

With its first product in 1996, the XE1, XENA went even further, becoming the first to feature an electronic alarm built right in. In the decade since, constant innovation has seen XENA introduce a long list of firsts to the motorcycle security market (for a list of XENA Firsts, click here).

The Bullett Lock  In recent years imitators have struggled to create alarmed-locks based on XENA's unique hybrid alarmed-lock concept. Today, XENA’s focus on engineering extremely strong, attack-resistant locks that contain sophisticated electronics has paid off with a significant technological lead on the market.

Great leap forward... and off the brake disc
In 2007 that advantage produced the Bullett. At the heart of each lock is a unique self-contained, removable unit that houses both the locking mechanism and electronic alarm. This new and innovative design platform frees XENA's alarmed locks from motorcycle brake-discs; now the concept can be used in virtually any locking application (pictured here, the XTL alarmed Bullett lock for trailers).

All Bullett locks feature the same shock and motion sensors linked to a 110 dB alarm used throughout the XENA range. Each Bullett is engineered from the highest quality stainless steel for incredible strength and durability.

Zone alarms
Also in 2006, XENA introduced a third product line with its XA series passive infrared zone alarms. Programmable, remote activated, even auto-dialling to up to three land or mobile lines, the XA series took the white plastic box alarm, beefed up the case in characteristuic XENA black and filled it with rugged premium components suited to garages and utility areas. The line met with immediate success and is now an established part of the XENA's integrated  Security solution for garage, home, caravan and more.
